Monheim PM Stereo - Rebuilding a Classic

Using vintage NOS Yamaha parts and modern components we have carefully rebuilt this classic.  Many describe this unit as a marriage of API clarity with Neve tonality (the EQ section is all inductor based and adds a nice flavor to the clean gain of the preamp). The input transformers are original, we are also using Tamura output transformers in the output section of the preamp.

The stereo channels are all carefully loaded with high temperature Panasonic Electrolytic caps throughout the circuitry as well as Wima audio grade caps in all parts of the audio path.

The inductor-based EQ section has been adjusted to have Neve 1073 based EQ points.  All audio caps in the EQ section have been upgraded to Wima. We have added phantom power, a DI on each channel, and have rebuilt the original input gain section to be more accurate and closer to modern circuitry.

As a result of these upgrades, these stereo channels are especially popular with our synth and drum tracking crowd, but also serve guitar tracking well.
